Automatic Writing/Drawing

Automatic Writing/Drawing is the ability to get flashes of possible futures through either drawing or writing.

When this occurs, the psychic goes into a trance where they will write (or draw, depending which they are) with whatever is avalible to them. When this trance occurs, the psychic is completely unaware of what they are doing. They will not respond to anything else. A person could snatch the pencil/pen/etc from their hand and they could continue to behave as if they were writing/drawing. When they come out of the trance, generally it is only the resulting drawing/writing that let's them know they were in a trance at all.

An automatic writer might write out a whole paragraph's worth of information, or they may just write out a single word. An automatic drawing may draw an elaborate picture or just something simple. For both, the result can sometimes be difficult to interpret. The word 'rose' (or a picture of a rose) could refer to a person with that name, or something occuring with a flower, for example.

Automatic drawers/writers can, with much practice, learn to put themselves into a trance. This does not, however mean that they will get the information that they are wanting!


Common Limitations
- The trances can come without warning, while the psychic is in the middle of doing something else.
- The symbolism in the drawings or writings can often be obscure. Many automatic writers/drawers find it useful to study symbolism.
- Sometimes, the psychic will not understand what they have written or drawn until after it has occured, and then it will make sense to them - too late.
