Psychometry is the ability to get information from something through touch. This must be skin-to-object contact.
If a psychometric touched a mug, for example, they would be able to see the last person who touched that mug and that they were doing. They could see every person who has ever touched that mug.
Wading through the levels of history on an object can be difficult for young psychometrics. If the mug has been touched by dozens of people it might be difficult to pin-point a certain on. The most recent history is usually obvious, but after that it can get muddy. New things are much easier to read than very old things that have been used and handled by many people.
Common Limitations: - This can be a very daunting ability for new psychics, as it is difficult to avoid touch. - It can be difficult for a psychometric to find exactly what they want from an object without training, because very few objects have been touched/used by only one person, and thus they would have many histories to deal with. - A psychometric can often find out more than they really want to know. For example, that their roommate borrowed their toothbrush without asking. Or worse.
