Psychic Abilities



Each character in the game will have a psychic power, chosen from the list below. Remember, as the characters are students, they will not have full mastery of their ability. The newer the student to the school, the less control they will have. Only the teachers have full control over their abilities.

List of Psychic Abilities:
- Telepathy (the ability to hear the thoughts of others, to read minds, and to project your own thoughts into the minds of others). [Read More]
- Empathy (the ability to read the emotions of others very acutely. Can function as a lie detector. Can project own emotions onto a person). [Read More]
- Telekinesis (the ability to move objects with your mind). [Read More]
- Astral Projection (the ability to detach your ‘spirit self’ from your body and send it elsewhere, to see and gather information). [Read More]
- Remote viewing (the ability to see what is going on elsewhere in the world at that moment). [Read More]
- Psychometry (the ability to ‘read’ the history of inanimate objects through touch). [Read More]
- Automatic Writing (the ability to spontaneously write out information independent of your own awareness. Usually what is written is a glimpse of the future or some other present. Instead of writing, can take the form of drawings as well). [Read More]
- Communication with animals (the ability to... communicate with animals. Obviously). [Read More]
- Psychic healing (the ability to heal wounds using the mind, usually via psychical touch). [Note: this is currently a closed ability, as we are not accepting more!]
- Dream influencing/dream walking (the ability to enter the dreams of others, and influence what is dreamed). [Read More]
- Pyrokinesis (the ability to create and manipulate fire with the mind). [Read More]
- Electrokinesis (the ability to manipulate electricity with the mind, including the ability to influence/interfere with anything that runs of electricity). [Read More]
- Technopathy (the ability to communicate with computers. A person could upload information into their mind or project their thoughts onto the screen, etc). Read More]
- Illusion creation (the ability to create mental illusions that appear real. These can fool people, depending on their strength and realism. However note that machines will not register these illusions - ie. cameras, etc). Read More]
- Omnilinguism (The ability to understand any language that they hear/read. This includes various codes). [Read More]
- Eidetic Memory/Total Recall (The ability to recall any and all memories made. This is photgraphic memory to the highest degree. Once something has seen/hear/read/learned something they can recall it at will). [Read More]
- ESP: (An individual with ESP or 'the Sixth Sense' has a spacial awareness beyond the regular five senses. They are able to 'sense' when something it coming at them, when something is going to fall near them, when someone is coming up behind them without having to look. This often leads to quicker than average reflexes, because they have that extra moment of foresight). [Read More]
- Hydrokinesis (The ability to manipulate sources of water). [Read More]


Note: There may be other psychic abilities. Some are left off the list on purpose, as they are very difficult to play. If interested in something not listed above )or below on the 'no' list), feel free to ask the mod. Also, if you are not clear on one of the above, or require more information, please ask for clarification. The mod is always happy to talk about game things.

Note 2: This game is limited to psychic abilities. Not physical ones (like super strength or speed or other abilities of a physical nature). Nor do character have physical abnormalities like blue hair or green skin. This is a game based on psychics. Not the X-men or their kin! :P Keep that in mind. Regular people with a psychic ability trying to cope in a regular world.

The following 'rare' abilities have open spots. Ask the mod before you decide to make one of these, though:
- Aura reading (Stargate)
- Chlorokinetic (plant communication/manipulation - as a Stargate psychic)
- Dowsing (as a Zener student)



We are not allowing any (or any more) of the following 'rare' abilities. So don't ask :P
- Precognition
- Mediumship/Spirit psychic
- Probability Manipulation
- Phasing
- Invisibility
- Shadow Manipulation
- Psychic vampirism
- Regression
- Psychic possession
- Cryokinesis (freezing/ice production)
- Chronokinesis (time manipulation)
- Anything involving multiple abilities on one character
