Project: Stargate Base Information
Project Stargate Base of Operations
The East Coast base of Project Stargate is located outside of North Conway, New Hampshire. The location was purposefully chosen by Project leaders to be close to the Zener School for the Mind (although neither the school nor the general public are aware of its existence). A dirt road turn off from one of the back roads leading towards the town. Signs mark the road as private property, but nothing particularly official looking. The entire Project Stargate compound and area surrounding are psychically warded so that any psychic who passed by would get no read off it.
The dirt road winds through woods for a couple kilometers. Then there are gates, which require a code punched into a control panel, as well as a fingerprint scan. This way, no one but members of Project Stargate can enter the compound. Once through the gates, there is a large parking lot which fronts a large sterile looking building.
To enter the building, both fingerprints and retinal scans are required (all members of Project Stargate, once they are trusted, have their fingerprints, retinal scans and DNA entered into the system). The door open into the five story building.
The first floor of the building resembles an office building. There is a front desk where a security guard sits. Hallways lead to rows of offices belonging to top Stargate members (like Mr. Smith) and other important individuals.
Floors four and five are made up of living quarters for all Project Stargate psychics. Rooms are single rooms with their own bathrooms and small kitchenettes (with small stove and mini fridge), like bachelor style apartments.
The third floor is the common area for Project Stargate members. There is an audio-visual room with televisions, DVD players, and yes, video game platforms (brought in by some of the psychics). There is a communal kitchen and dining area for those who choose to cook and eat together. There are several training rooms, which are psychically padded so as to block out outside psychic interference.
The second floor contains much of the information of the Project. A large library filled with files, microfiches, important books, and other such things. Several conference rooms are found on this floor as well, for meetings, and training sessions and what not.
In the basement there is a large gym for physical training as well as an indoor track. There are also many storage rooms there, for equipment, files, and other things. The armory is also located in the basement, complete with a shooting range (that not everyone can get into). There are two sensory deprivation rooms on his level as well.
There is a sub-basement, which can not be reached by most elevators. In fact he can only be reached by one elevator, which requires a key for entry and only a select few have the key (no one below Level Four has access). In the sub-basement there are many closed off rooms that are kept secret even from the lower ranking Stargate psychics - sensory deprivation rooms, laboratories, even some cells.
Security is ultimate at the Stargate base. No one outside the Project knows of its location. Any tresspassers are dealth with immediately. Because of the security, mail and deliveries are not sent to the base. There is a PO Box in town under a falsified name to which all mail should be sent. It is picked up on a daily basis.
